Nothing But Gratitude
This Week In Gratitude
Summer has shown its true colors in this corner of the world a little early this year. Arizona summers are famous for their excessive heat and dehydrating nature. But this year, June started with a full-on tormenting heat wave rather than letting us ease into the sweltering hot weather. Air conditioners working 24/7 without a break to keep us cool and the availability of water to replenish our parched body are a couple of things I am grateful for at this moment as we cannot imagine spending even a second without these two.
I had a few interesting conversations in the last couple of weeks. All those conversations led me to accept, once again, the importance of gratitude.
Even in the darkest hour, gratitude is possible. Gratitude will guide us to happiness and peace. But, this is a conundrum that many of us are not able to understand. People need to know that certain columns are checked off and then they will accept your happiness. However, if you are happy without fitting into their reasoning, then they will question you — no big house, no huge salary hike, then why are you okay, how can you be happy? And if you are someone who has everything they believe someone of your age, gender, education, or status has achieved, then you have no business being sad.
