And thus ends my day

After a long day
Battles are continuing
Chores are waiting
Days are longer, yet not
Enough time to
Finish the neverending chores.
Goals — did I achieve them?
Hey, why would I pause and ponder, when I can
Ignore the unsettling noises and
Just go to bed.
Kiss goodnight,
Lights off and sleep tight.
Morning will be here quickly
Now’s the time to sleep
Or else, I’ll be tired
Prancing from dream to dream.
Quiet down worries, the
Reflections you leave
Silently imprison my mind and the
Turbulence I’m subjected to,
Unkind, mind you! making me
Volatile and
Worn out, a
Xerox of such nights
Yielding yawns, but no sleep
Zapping my energy — and thus ends my day.
